WorkAble Volunteer Mentor Orientation

WorkAble, a partnership of the Career Development Center (CDC) of Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Pittsburgh (JF&CS), North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO) and South Hills Interfaith Ministries (SHIM), and funded by the United Way of Allegheny County, seeks volunteers to mentor job seekers during the stressful job search process. Volunteer mentors provide emotional support as well as practical guidance on resume and cover letter writing and job search and interview skills.

Volunteer training is provided and services are free.

Unhealthy Relationships: How to Help a Friend

Most women and girls talk to their sisters, mothers and friends about their relationships, good or bad. When someone’s relationship turns south, do you know how to help? Is it always right to say, “You just need to leave?” Is it her sole responsibility to fix it? Attend this presentation and understand what resources are available for the people in your life who may be struggling. Be a part of the solution.

WorkAble Career Fair

The upcoming career fair will include employers from Giant Eagle, KDKA-TV/WPCW-TV, St. Clair Hospital, University of Pittsburgh, U.S. Steel and others. Women’s Job Seeker Support Group

This session is designed to provide emotional support to women during the job search process. Center for Women clients meet to share their stories and support each other. This group is co-facilitated by a Career Development Center Counselor and a clinical therapist. The group is open and women are welcome to drop in and attend any or all sessions of this monthly program.

Savvy Social Security Planning for Women
